For insurance companies
Bra Miljöval for your home insurance
Rewind is the operational partner that ensures chapter 4 of the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation's criteria — claims settlement — is met in practice and reported every year.

What it means for you
The requirement gets done for you — and becomes a report you can show
Bra Miljöval — the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation's ecolabel — requires that written-off contents are reused as the first option and that the share is reported. Instead of building this up internally, you place all of chapter 4 with Rewind — operationally handled and documented.
Done for you
Collection, claims verification, reuse and reporting — the entire chapter 4 requirement is taken off your plate.
Risk-free
Profit sharing, no purchase costs. For many partners the net is revenue back — not a cost.
Report- & CSRD-ready
Reuse share per product type + avoided CO₂e emissions per claim — ready for both the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation and your sustainability reporting.
For the head of sustainability
Audit-ready reuse and climate data covering both the label's annual report and ESRS E5 — with no measurement work of your own.
For the head of claims
Lower contents costs and faster handling — fully outsourced, with no extra work for your claims handlers.
The market
The label today
Bra Miljöval home and house insurance launched in 2021 — and more companies are taking the step. Folksam has carried the label for some time, and Trygg-Hansa received it for its home insurance in January 2026. Today, almost 3.2 million Swedish policyholders have a Bra Miljöval-labelled house, home, holiday-home or car insurance policy, and the criteria were tightened in 2024 with stronger requirements for reuse in claims settlement. Yet few companies have solved the entire contents part — which makes it a strong differentiation opportunity for whoever does it now.

Four parts — Rewind delivers the fourth
The criteria cover requirements on the company, asset management, loss-prevention information and claims settlement. You handle the first three internally or with your existing advisers. The fourth — claims settlement — is where Rewind is the operational partner.
- 1
Company
An environmental policy adopted by the CEO, a travel policy (avoiding air and car travel, eco-labelled hotels), sustainability reporting according to GRI/TCFD, eco-labelled consumables (soap, paper, coffee/tea/milk), Bra Miljöval-labelled electricity or solar energy on the premises, sustainability training for all employees, and eco-driving for staff who drive.
Handled internally by you.
- 2
Management of the insurance capital
PRI signature, concrete emission targets in line with the 1.5-degree goal. Exclusion of thermal coal (0%), uranium and nuclear power, controversial weapons including depleted uranium, tobacco/pornography/war materiel above 5% of turnover, and fossil energy (gas, oil) above 5% of turnover linked to the licensed product. Transparency via TCFD and the EU Disclosure Regulation. Inclusion according to the EU taxonomy and Agenda 2030. Active ownership.
Handled by your asset management.
- 3
Information and loss prevention
The Bra Miljöval label must always be clearly visible on your website together with the labelled insurance, and appear in all customer information about the product. Strategic loss-prevention work, with information to policyholders at least once a year, plus products or services that help the customer avoid or reduce damage.
Handled by your marketing and customer service teams.

Claims settlement
← This is Rewind
Supplier agreements with environmental requirements, temporary accommodation at eco-labelled hotels, the environmentally best materials in building repairs, FSC timber, the substitution principle — and the core of Rewind's offering:
- § 4.4.1 — Repair and reuse of contents
- “Property that passes into the insurance company's ownership through settlement shall first and foremost be repaired and/or reused.”
- § 4.4.2 — Action plan for repair and reuse
- An annual action plan + reporting to the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation for six mandatory product types: mobile phones, computers, tablets, TVs, furniture and bicycles (including e-bikes). The report must also include the share of products settled in cash. If the reuse share is unchanged or declining, a written justification is required.
- § 4.1 — Supplier requirements
- Agreements with all suppliers carrying out claims settlement measures under § 4.3.1.
→ Rewind: a high reuse share across all goods received — exact quarterly figures are published on our sustainability page.
→ Rewind: the report is delivered ready-made — and we also measure additional categories using the same methodology (possible to include after justification to the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation).
→ Rewind is precisely that supplier, contracted in accordance with the requirements.
The full criteria document is published at bramiljoval.se — 16 pages, version 2021:5, reviewed 15 November 2025.

Frequently asked questions
What partners ask us
- Is Rewind itself Bra Miljöval-licensed?
- No. Bra Miljöval Insurance is a label on the insurance product — that is, on your home and house insurance. It is you who apply to the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation. Rewind is the supplier that enables you to meet chapter 4 of the criteria.
- How long does the application take?
- The Swedish Society for Nature Conservation states no standard timeline — each application is assessed individually. The time required depends mainly on how far you have already come on asset management (chapter 2) and corporate governance (chapter 1). Claims settlement (chapter 4) with Rewind as operational partner can typically be in place within a few months, so it is rarely the bottleneck.
- What data do you need from us?
- No personal data about policyholders is needed after collection (see our personal data policy for goods handling). What we need is claim handovers following your existing process — this flows smoothly through your existing claims management systems.
- What does it cost?
- Rewind's operational model is profit sharing — we get paid only after handling costs have been deducted. For many partners the net outcome is positive (revenue back), not a cost. A worked example is prepared as part of a first meeting.
- What happens if we later want to end the label?
- The label is voluntary and can be terminated by you at any time. The partnership with Rewind is independent of the BMV licence and can continue without the label — or be adapted to a possible future application for another ecolabel.
